The annual growth rate of social impact startups in India reaches more than 20% with more than 400 startups. This information was uncovered by the Senior Vice President of Nasscom, Sangeeta Gupta, on Tuesday.
In the last day of the “Code for the Next Billion” programme’s 2nd edition, Gupta made a speech on the opportunities for social impact startups in the Indian market.
For those who haven’t known any detail about the “Code for the Next Billion”, the programme run by Facebook and the Nasscom aims to bring the attractive opportunities to its applicants as startups. 10 selected applicants to take part in the “Code for the Next Billion” will be supported in the fields of technique, finance, and marketing, and build their own leadership skills.
In addition, they can also be in contact with famous policy makers, industry leaders, and corporates to enhance their awareness as well as seek for effective mentorship in their interested fields.
The purpose of the Nasscom and Facebook when holding the programme’s second edition is that they want to train and guide the social tech startups to bring more digital innovations to users including newbies to the internet and the ones in the bottom of the pyramid.
