Netflix’s headquarters in Los Angeles went on lockdown today after receiving a threat on the possible active shooter. The mentioned building is the Sunset Bronson Studios which is shared between Netflix, KTLA – a local news channel and CBS.
But, apparently, no gunman ever actually existed, as an LAPD spokesperson said, “The suspect was never on site.” According to LAPD’s explanation, around 3:53pm (Pacific Time), a local resident reported a threat. The first response from the police department was to lock down the building. Later, they took into custody a suspect in another location. However, no gun was found on this suspect. Since then, the police has lifted the lockdown.

At 5:57pm, Netflix issued a statement, read, “We’ve now received an all clear from the LAPD. There was never an individual with a firearm on the property.”
Because the building is shared between Netflix and two other companies, it was not immediately clear whether the incident was related directly to Netflix. But the Los Angeles Times and Forbes later reported that the suspect is indeed a former employer of Netflix.

Jenna Marotta, a comms manager of Netflix, retold the scene in her tweet.
David Hayter, a Hollywood director, and screenwriter shared on his Twitter that he was in the building at that time.
In an official statement, Netflix wrote:
