It’s now much easier to watch your favorite Netflix film offline.
The company has just announced Downloads for You, a new feature that allows for automatic downloads of movies and shows on your device based on your preferences. If you worry the feature will consume a lot of storage space on your phone, the good news is that you can control how much memory you want to put aside for these titles.

Once enabled, the tool will automatically download movies and shows when your phone is connected to wifi. This way, when you are bored or on the go, you can take out your phone and there will already be several titles you can view offline. This feature is especially useful when you travel by plane where you have to be completely offline and you don’t have to worry about downloading shows ahead of your flight.
This feature is built on the Smart Downloads feature that Netflix introduced a few years ago, which downloads and deletes new and watched episodes automatically. For now, the new feature is limited to Android devices but it will soon be tested on iOS devices.

To enable Downloads for You, you need to open the Netflix app, head to the Downloads settings menu, and switch on the feature. Here, you can also choose among 1GB, 3GB, and 5GB for allocating titles. It’s worth noting that this space doesn’t include the titles you download manually.
