Sanjay Kaul, who worked as a Country Manager of Apple India, has recently launched a social commerce startup called Sofyx that aims to help general traders deal with accessories and smartphones in the Indian market.

The Former Apple Manager Sanjay Kaul has launched his own startup called Sofyx.

Sofyx was first introduced on July 08 and is expected to become a destination of not only the community of mobile resellers but also a lot of other stakeholders such as device manufacturers, vendors, distributors, and telecom operators. They will be able to gather together on the only platform.

According to Sanjay Kaul,

While working at BlackBerry, and then Apple, Sanjay Kaul analyzed and found out a series of challenges in the uncoordinated retail sector which occupied 93% of the entire retail business in the Indian market.

In addition, its partners will get more benefits when driving business transactions.

Despite its great contribution to India’s economy, the General Trade sector has lacked a connection with the digital ecosystem. Last year, there were about 140 million sold smartphones in India, and more than half of these devices were provided by retailers of the General Trade.

The new startup Sofyx hopes to build the mobile reseller community, create business networking, as well as allow the stakeholders to give feedback in real time. In addition, its partners will get more benefits when driving business transactions.

In terms of Sofyx’s major goals, it aims to attract footfall to small retailers as mentioned above and enhance customer retention. That’s why the startup has launched many services with the most prominent smartphone selling shops from Delhi-NCR. On average, these shops have contributed more than Rs 2,000 crore in the annual smartphone revenue.

Kaul said that although large businesses seem to be rapidly focusing on connecting with digital technologies in India, small businesses haven’t yet caught up with these proceedings.
