The time is not only money for Jeff Bezos! That is a lot!

On Wednesday, the richest billionaire ever in the world, Jeff Bezos, made an announcement that his 25-year marriage with Mackenzie Bezos would soon end in divorce.

According to the divorce laws in 9 states in the US, including Washington, the Bezos’ hometown, all things that are acquired during the marriage including real estate and income will become joint property after divorce.

At present, Bezos is owning the net worth of about $137 billion.

The annual incomes of the Amazon CEO were calculated based on the difference between the net worth in 2017 and that in 2018. The amount gathered annually in October has brought Bezos to the Forbes 400 Richest Americans list.

However, have you ever wondered how much he earns per month, per day, or per second? As all we know, Bezos receives $78.5 billion each year and now, let’s find out the numbers in shorter time frames.

His wages mentioned here is just estimated for the benefit of comparison and not 100% exact because Bezos’s wealth has the close relationship with Amazon stock that may vary according to the market fluctuations at each different period.

Business Insider analyzed the rate between his annual earnings to realize that he has received over $215 million per day, over $1.5 billion per week, and $6.54 billion per month in the recent 12 months. Of course, these numbers are for reference only.

As per hour, Jeff Bezos also earns a massive amount of $8,961,187 million. The amount is said to be 315 times higher than a median employee in Amazon work in a year (about $28,466). As such, each Amazon employee who earns at least $15 per week will have to work 24 hours per day in nearly 68 years, equivalent to 597,412 hours, to gain what Bezos earns in an hour.

It is pity that Amazon has had no intention to increase its workers’ minimum wage to $15, as well as no median worker in Amazon can earn as much as Jeff Bezos does.

Each minute goes by, Bezos puts more $149,353 into his pocket. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that he has earned over three times as high as what any median worker in the US can receive per year ($45,552). Each second goes by, he earns two times as much as any median worker in the US can earn in seven days.
