Those who wish to travel to another state will have to visit the website designated by the government of the state they want to go to. India will be under lockdown until May 31, until then, you still need an e-pass to commute.

How To Apply E-Pass 2020

You might be wondering what the website of the state you wish to travel to is, fear not, to make things easier for you, the center government has launched this single-access point e-pass for Movement during Lockdown for people to apply for e-pass.

The website is developed by the NIC (stand for National Informatics Centre).

For now, the website has permits for only 17 states without any major states. However, when you visit it and choose the state you want to commute to, you will be redirected to the according website of that state.

For example, if Noida is where you want to go, choose Uttar Pradesh. Next, you will see a hyperlink taking you to the website of Uttar Pradesh to apply for an e-pass.

Step 1: People will have to verify their phone number, receive an OTP, and then provide necessary documents.

Step 4: If your request is passed, you will get a message to your phone with a link to download the e-pass.

When we wrote this article, there have been 3,671,690 applications submitted to the system. However, not all of them are passed. The number of applications being rejected is 1,259,090. So again, knowing how to apply for e-pass is only half of the work, if for some reason, your request is turned down, there is no way you can travel legally to another state when lockdown order is still in place.
