People might have come up with a new technique to save a place outside liquor shops using many things, from bags, bottles, to slippers, helmets.

After day 1 of lockdown relaxations, chaotic scenes were seen on the streets in different parts around the country. The reopening of liquor shops has led to states coming up with a revised relaxation order.

The Delhi government issued a new tax called “special corona cess” that will charge 70% “Corona Fee” on liquors. And with videos surfacing online showing how people did not even care about social distancing when coming to get their liquors have raised concerns over the spread of COVID-19.

However, people might have come up with a new technique to save a place outside liquor shops. In Hubli, Karnataka, people used many things, from bags, bottles, to slippers, helmets, to fight over places.

The same thing happened in Bengaluru with people putting their slippers inside the drawn squared to reserve a place to get their favorite boozes.

On Monday, thirsty Indians raced to buy alcohol after 40 days, creating a chaotic scene. Some state leaders had even pushed for these liquor stores to be opened earlier, stating that the sales played a major source for tax revenue.

After the 70% tax of Delhi, the Andhra Pradesh government has raised the prices of alcohol for another 50%, only one day after issuing a 25% hike.

Instead of opening from 11 am, liquor stores are opened from 12 noon until 7 pm.
