Apple HomePod Goes On Sale In India At Rs 19,900

The Apple HomePod price in India is already updated on Apple India's website - Rs. 19,900.

Indian users will no longer have to wait for the arrival of a Siri-enabled smart speaker as Apple has already updated HomePod on the official website of Apple India. According to some early information provided by the company, the Apple HomePod will soon be launched with a price tag of Rs 19,900.

Meanwhile, there’s no word on which date the device will be available on the market, not to mention the HomePod is set to go on sale in two color variants – White and Space Grey.

Apple previously unveiled the HomePod at WWDC 2017 event, but it was not until 2018 for the first purchases in America, the UK, and Australia. The smart speaker was priced at around Rs 25,000 (~$349) at that time, and Apple later applied a significant price cut to Rs 21,300 ($299) last year. Since then, HomePod has seen no price revision. At Rs 19,900, the Apple HomePod price in India is obviously a little bit more affordable than all the said ones.

Apple started rolling out the device to Asian markets last year.

Besides those English-speaking countries, the Apple HomePod has also been sold in several major markets before taking place in India, including Germany, France, Canada, Spain, and Mexico. Apple started rolling out the device to Asian markets like Hong Kong and China in early 2019, and then Taiwan and Japan in August 2019.

For Indian users, the smart speaker will feature supports for Indian English when people interacting with Siri thanks to iOS and iPadOS 13.3.1 versions. In terms of design, Apple HomePod sports six on-top microphones for far-field activation. It enables users to play media content from Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, etc. seamlessly via any Apple-branded devices, such as Mac, iPhone, iPad, and so on. The device has a 172x142 mm in size and weighs around 2.5 kilograms.
