Virgin Galactic Crews Will Be Equipped With 'Under Armour' Spacesuits

Designed by Under Armor, these spacesuits will be tasked with accompanying astronauts during the upcoming Virgin Galactic's spaceflights.

The spacesuits for astronauts wearing for extraplanetary missions are often designed impressively, yet look awkward sometimes and quite heavy-handed on patriotism. However, for commercial space travel companies, the spacesuits are a little more stylish. A prime example is the space gear including boots, spacesuit and a base layer designed by Under Armor for commercial travel in outer space during the upcoming Virgin Galactic's spaceflights.

For the base layer, Under Armor added UA RUSH, a mineral absorbent fabric used on athletes' clothing to help regulate body temperature and absorb sweat. Basically, the layer looks like a winter jogging suit.

The dark green spacesuit is accented with gold stripes around the outfit that the manufacturer says is inspired by the sun's rays. Under Armor affirmed that the spacesuits underwent a strict testing process under the experiences of pilots and supervision of space experts such as spacecraft engineers, astronaut instructors, and medical professionals. The suits were also designed with many pockets, especially a clear one in a jacket for holding pictures. They also come with removable patches to flight jackets for daily usage. Furthermore, they are functionally featured as an integrated system for communication purposes.

The matching boots are the final pieces of the space gear. Unlike what you would imagine of bulky moon shoes, the boots of Under Armor has a trendy lightweight design and is inspired by the footwear fashion of racing riders.

Virgin Galactic is planning for the important inaugural commercial space flight. Despite some recent failures, the company still attracts a large number of passengers who wish to travel to the edge of the space. Currently, over 600 passengers coming from nearly 60 countries are waiting to board the flights after making payment or deposit for seats.
