Recently, an AI (artificial intelligence) firm states that a heads-up display helmet can help astronauts in managing complicated space missions.

It was Hypergiant Industries that built the “Iron Man” lookalike space helmet, the HyperVSR. This device has a detailed display in front of the astronauts, showing important notes or information about a particular mission. Hypergiant Industries CEO, Ben Lamm shared that the device can ensure the safety of astronauts. How? It does that by providing extra information for the crew, reducing the actions they have to take while wearing a spacesuit, which clearly limits their movements.
According to Lamm, space is extremely unpredictable. Everything, every challenge can change significantly in a short amount of time. That being said, it’s vital to keep the astronauts safe and sound in such moments. Therefore, Hypergiant Industries have specially designed the helmet to quickly give information to astronauts about any situation. Additionally, it can assess the current health situation of the wearer. Because of that, it can totally enhance the decision-making process during the case of an emergency.
Demonstration mode

To begin with, the astronauts will have tags on their glove about different aspects like emergency, vitals or mission details. From that, whenever they look at any of the tags, the helmet can sense it, thus projecting such information in the Iron-Man-alike heads-up display.
Right now, Hypergiant Industries is building the software on the helmet’ sides. Also, according to a spokesperson from the company themselves, they are actively looking out for potential customers from military contractors or from space agencies.
The spokesperson went on to share about the previous demonstration. They did demonstrate their current prototype to some defense contractors. After this, they are aiming to do some demos of the HyperVSR for government officials in the summer.
