Blue light from phone displays has been believed to be one factor that affects our sleep.
According to scientific research, however, blue light from your mobile phones and the colors of twilight are quite similar; therefore, it sends signals to our brain that it is time to sleep. Researchers say that blue light causes less effect on sleep than yellow or white light.
Scientists from the University of Manchester say that our body takes the blue light and the dim of twilight as the signal about nighttime so it may be good for our health if you look at warm-colored lights in the daytime and look at cool-colored lights when it is dark. After all, the blue light from your phones might not be the reason for your sleep difficulties like you always think.
Scientists suppose that changing the color of the mobile displays or other technologies to limit blue light has made the body clock misunderstand because the colors and brightness resemble daylight and send wrong signals to the body.
Researchers found that the effect of phone displays with the blue light on their sleep is less than those with bright yellow.
For many years, people thought that it is the blue light from mobiles which disrupts our sleep. With the aim to reduce strain on eyes and also on batteries, apps, and services, dark mode is designed and has become popular with both Android and iOS users. It has also been adopted on many apps, browsers, and websites.
