Recently, a middle-aged man from Vietnam has become a TikTok star after achieving stardom just by staring blankly into the camera of his smartphone and doing nothing.
Seeing how popular streaming and video content have become, wannabe influencers really to come up with unique ways to attract and entertain the audience. And it seems like turning on the smartphone camera and just staring straight at it might be one of the few ways.
In the TikTok account of this Vietnamese, you can never find clips with him saying or doing anything as there are only clips of him looking at the camera. Oh, he does play some Vietnamese music in the background.
The man, Anh Tran Tan, doesn’t even write a bio for his TikTok account. Until now, he has uploaded a few dozen clips. He already has more than 500,000 followers and more than 7.8 million “likes.”
In his latest upload, Tan can be seen chilling in a hammock and yes, he stares at his smartphone expressionlessly again. The clip has been viewed over 300,000 times and is one of his most popular clips. There are some clips of him that have exceeded one million views. There is one with a whopping 40.7 million views.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that we have seen someone reaches Internet stardom effortlessly. A few months ago, we already wrote about Muhammad Didit, a YouTuber from Indonesia, who became viral on social media for recording himself doing nothing for hours.
