If you visit Bangalore in India, you can see one of the world’s most lavish mansions, a White House replica built on top of a skyscraper.
United Breweries Group’s CEO, Vijay Mallya, has always been known as one of the most flamboyant tycoons of India. In 2010, Mallya announced his plans to build a mansion replicating the White House on top of a luxury skyscraper in the city. At that time, people thought that the mansion was too much. But that didn’t discourage Mallya from building his dream house. By 2016, his White House replica mansion started to take shape.
Unfortunately, 2016 was when his financial woes became the talk of India. It wasn’t long before Mallya fled from India for the UK and his dream home was left unfinished.
The house is located on Kingfisher Tower’s 33rd and 34th floors and covers 40,000 square meters. When the construction was first started, the house was supposed to have an indoor heated pool, a wine cellar, gym, spa, salon, an outdoor infinity pool, a roof helipad, and many more. But it is unclear how many of these amenities were completed.
From a distance, the building looks finished but a closer look actually reveals that it is missing the final details.
Back in March 2016, Mallya fled from India after investigating agencies and lenders tried to catch him after he borrowed large sums of money but never paid back. Since then, India has been trying to extradite him back from the UK.
If Mallya was found guilty for his money laundering act, his sky mansion may be confiscated and then sold to pay for his debts.
