Motorola Moto G Stylus Price, Specifications, Review: Should You Buy It?

Karamchand Rameshwar

The Moto G Stylus price is around Rs. 20,000 and it is probably the best stylus-support smartphone you can find on the market.

If you are in search of a smartphone with a built-in stylus, there aren’t a lot of options out there on the market. The most notable candidate is obviously the Samsung Galaxy Note series, but its price tag is a bit too high for many people. The LG Stylo 5 is a much more affordable option, but its performance might disappoint you. That might be the reason why Motorola decided to release the Moto G Stylus.

Moto G Stylus price in India will likely be around Rs. 20,000.

The Motorola Moto G Stylus is a much better pick than the LG Style 5 in pretty much every aspect. It is more powerful, a better display, and better cameras. Obviously, it is not comparable to the Galaxy Note10, but it is three times cheaper than the Note10. In this review, I will go into details Moto G Stylus price in India, review, and more.

Moto G Stylus Price, Specs, Review: Design & Display

The Moto G Stylus has a nearly identical look to the Moto G Power. The front of the smartphone is dominated by a 6.4” LCD panel with a punch-hole cut-out at the upper left corner for a selfie camera. The display has pretty slim bezels on the side, Full-HD+ resolution, and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is bright and crisp, so you don’t have to worry about using the phone in direct sunlight. The colors might be a bit cool for your taste, but it is still great at the price point.

The back panel of the G Stylus is made of glass.

Around the back, you will see a triple camera lens setup and a ToF sensor in the upper left corner. There is also a fingerprint embedded on the Motorola logo in the center of the rear panel. There is nothing at the top edge while the bottom edge is home to a USB Type-C port, a speaker, and a headphone jack. On the right side, Motorola puts a volume rocker and a power button while the hybrid SIM tray is placed on the left side.

Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus vs Moto G Stylus

Having a glass back is great, but many users will be concerned about the durability as the plastic back has a higher chance of surviving a drop than glass. Motorola claims that this smartphone is splash resistant, but it doesn’t have an IP rating.

Moto G Stylus Price, Specs, Review: Performance

The Moto G Stylus specs include a Snapdragon 665 SoC and 4GB RAM. You will have a 128GB of internal storage, with 112GB being available to use. There is a microSD card slot if you need more storage. (up to 512GB).

The G Stylus has a solid performance.

For day-to-day tasks, the Moto G Stylus performance is solid. We ran a wide range of apps on the phone and didn’t see any lag. The handset also delivers decent gaming performance. We tested it with PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 8 and the only issue is the loading time, which is slightly longer than on high-end smartphones.

Moto G Stylus Price, Specs, Review: Cameras

The camera setup of the G Stylus is pretty good for a smartphone in the Rs. 20,000 price point. The setup consists of a 48MP primary camera, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. The main camera produces decent shots with a slight overexposure when there is lots of natural light.

Moto G Stylus has triple rear cameras.

When it comes to low-light photography, Motorola offers a dedicated Night Mode, but it isn’t that helpful. You might even get a better result with the built-in flash. In addition, the phone requires 2-3 seconds to capture a low-light photo with the Night Mode on. It means you have to hold the camera still for up to three seconds for the phone to fully process before capturing another picture.

Moto G Stylus Price, Specs, Review: Battery

Motorola packs a 4,000mAh battery inside the G Stylus. That is only enough to meet the standard for smartphones in the price range. But having a large battery doesn’t guarantee a long battery life, so let’s see how the G Stylus performs in this regard.

The Moto G Stylus price in India is expected to be around Rs. 20,000.

In our battery drain test, the smartphone managed to last 14 hours and 23 minutes when playing an HD video over Wi-Fi at full brightness. That is way worse than the Moto G Power, which shut down after 18 hours and 8 minutes. However, the Moto G Stylus 2021 should still last for around a day before you have to charge it. There is only a 10W charger included in the box, so you have to purchase a separate adapter if you want to charge it at 15W.

Moto G Stylus Price, Specs, Review: Verdict

Apart from the high-end Galaxy Note10, the best stylus-support smartphone you can get is the Moto G Stylus. For around Rs. 20,000, the phone delivers a solid performance, long battery life, and a large and bright display. That being said, you can get pretty much the same performance and features as well as a longer battery life for around Rs. 3,500 less with the Moto G Power. If you can stretch your budget a little bit and don’t mind the lack of stylus, we would highly recommend the Pixel 3a, which is currently priced at Rs. 30,990 in India.
