Xiaomi Mi 11 Review, Specifications, Price In India - Everything You Need

Xiaomi Mi 11 is the world's first smartphone with Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 888 SoC. Learn more about the phone in our Xiaomi Mi 11 review.

Xiaomi Mi 11 is the first flagship from Xiaomi in the new decade. Unlike previous generations, this time, Xiaomi only releases a vanilla version, featuring top-end specs like Snapdragon 888 chipset, Quad-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 108MP triple rear cameras, and more. Let’s see if the handset can live up to the expectations in the Xiaomi Mi 11 review below.

For now, the handset hasn’t made its way to India yet, but the Xiaomi Mi 11 price in India is expected to start at Rs. 44,990. To recall, the device was announced in three models, 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB. They are respectively priced at CNY 3,999 (around Rs. 45,000), CNY 4,299 (around Rs. 48,500), and CNY 4,699 (around Rs. 53,000).

Xiaomi Mi 11: Design

On the front, the handset gets a large display with 6.81 inches in size, which features the popular punch-style. With a weight of 194 grams, the Xiaomi Mi 11 doesn’t feel heavy at all. It is a significant reduction from the weight of the Mi 10 (208 grams).  At the bottom corner of the back, we no longer see the familiar “Mi” logo, which is replaced by a simple word “Xiaomi”.

The Mi 11 has a brand new camera design at the back.

Another huge change is the camera design. From the Xiaomi Mi 7 to Mi 10, the company placed the rear cameras in a horizontal line. It is now changed on the Mi 11 as the triple cameras are now housed inside a rectangular module. Overall, the design of the Mi 11 is more unique and recognizable in comparison to that of the Mi 10.

Xiaomi Mi 11: Display

The Xiaomi Mi 11 display has top-notch quality and is on par with current flagships on the market. Having a size of 6.81 inches, the AMOLED panel of the phone is curved on all four sides and has a WQHD+ (1,440 x 3,200p) resolution. In addition, the display is made of the new E4 light-emitting material and has a peak brightness of 1,500nits. That means you can comfortably use the phone in direct sunlight.

In addition, it also has a high refresh rate of 120Hz, a 480Hz touch sampling rate, and an ultra-high quasi-primary color screen with a JNCD rating of 0.38. The display is also much more durable thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which is said to have improved drop and scratch resistance. All those factors help the Xiaomi Mi 11 achieve an A+ rating from Display Mate.

Xiaomi Mi 11: Performance

Just like its predecessors, the Xiaomi Mi 11 specs include Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset and this time it is the Snapdragon 888. The handset is also the first Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone in the world. On the Chinese software benchmarking tool AnTuTu, the Snapdragon 888 chipset managed to score 6,90,000 points while its score on 3DMark was 5,500 points.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Review 2

Although the Xiaomi Mi 11 is equipped with a 120Hz display (2K resolution), even if the Graphics setting is set as low as "Smooth", the frame rate is still capped at 60 FPS (Extreme). Xiaomi Mi 11 is yet to support 90 FPS in PUBG Mobile. Perhaps, Snapdragon 888 is not yet optimized for PUBG Mobile, because on Mi 10 with a Snapdragon 865 processor (weaker than Snapdragon 888) users can still set Frame Rate settings at a high level than the Mi 11, which is 90 fps.

Xiaomi Mi 11: Cameras

On the front, the Mi 11 is equipped with a 20MP camera for picturing selfies. You can get great photos for social media thanks to the photo beautification effects and lots of filters on the camera app. At the back, there is a triple camera lens setup, consisting of a 108MP primary  ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123-degree viewing angle, and a 5MP telephoto lens that doubles up as a macro shooter.

Xiaomi Mi 11's triple rear cameras.

Aside from having a slightly smaller aperture, the main camera on the Mi 11 is pretty much the same as that of the Mi 10. Both of them capture excellent shots in day-light conditions. However, you will notice a difference in terms of quality between them.

Despite having to entirely rely on digital zoom, the Xiaomi Mi 11 camera is still capable of reaching up to 30x zoom. Yes, the results are not the sharpest but the photo will look much better if you lower the zoom level to 10x, thanks to the 108MP sensor capturing so much detail.

Pictures taken by the primary camera look vibrant and sharp with great dynamic range. Focusing is fast and razor-sharp. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the camera quality of the Xiaomi Mi 11.

Xiaomi Mi 11: Battery

Fueling the Mi 11 is a 4,600 mAh battery, which supports 55W Mi TurboCharge fast charging technology. The handset can quickly recharge from 0 to 100 percent in just 45 minutes. You can also use the 50W wireless charging, which only takes a bit longer to refill the 4,600mAh battery (around 53 minutes).

You can charge the Xiaomi Mi 11 battery from 0 to 100 percent in less than one hour with either the wired or wireless charging technology.

Apart from the two impressive charging technology, Xiaomi also offers 10W wireless reverse charging, which turns the Mi 11 into a portable power bank. As you may know, Xiaomi doesn’t include a charger in the box in China, but you can choose the bundle version that is included with a 55W GaN charger at a very small extra cost.
