JerryRigEverything is a famous YouTuber that has done a lot of teardown videos and smartphone durability tests. This time, he wants to see whether the latest Xiaomi gaming-centric phone dubbed Black Shark 2 is a durable phone or not. It turns out that despite having a budget-friendly price tag, the Black Shark 2 not only comes with a high-end set of specs like Snapdragon 855 SoC + 12GB of RAM and premium build, it is also a very durable handset.
It is confirmed from the scratch test that some parts of its back panel and the front are made of glass. Meanwhile, the rest of the back panel is made of pure metal. It is probably not an easy task to scratch it, but there are quite deep grooves.
Interestingly, we are surprised that its on-screen fingerprint scanner works perfectly even when the display is heavily scratched.
JerryRigEverything ends the torture with a bend test. The Black Shark 2 seems to stay strong even when he applied a significant pressure and its chassis even barely moved. It might be due to the fact that Xiaomi goes for aluminum material on this handset and that gives it great structural integrity. You can now rest assured that it’s not an easy task to break the Black Shark 2 even though it is launched with an aggressive pricing.

To recall, the base option of the Black Shark 2 with 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage costs CNY 3,199 (around Rs. 32,600) while the 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage model is priced at CNY 3,499 (around Rs. 35,700). The two higher models with 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM/256GB of storage will set you back by CNY 3,799 (around Rs. 38,700) and CNY 4,199 (around Rs. 42,800), respectively.

Aside the Snapdragon 855 SoC and 12GB of RAM, the major highlights of this phone are 6.39-inch FHD+ display, 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support, dual 48MP + 12MP rear cameras, and 20MP selfie camera.
