Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro With 48MP Camera, Snapdragon 675 SoC Launched In India

Alongside the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi also announced the Redmi Note 7 Pro with 48MP Sony IMX586 camera and the Snapdragon 675 SoC.

Alongside the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi also announced the Redmi Note 7 Pro globally at the release event in India. The main highlight of the phone is its 48MP Sony IMX586 rear sensor instead of a Samsung GM1 one on the Redmi Note 7. The phone is also powered by a newer Snapdragon 675 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 660 SoC.

The Pro model of the Redmi Note 7 will be priced from Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB of RAM/64GB of storage base option in the Indian market. The higher variant with 6GB of RAM/128GB of storage will cost Rs. 16,999. It will be up for sale via Mi.com, Flipkart, and some selected offline retailers from 13 March. There will be a total of three colour variants of the phone, Neptune Red, Nebula Blue, and Space Black with the first two having gradient finish on the rear.
Xiaomi also offers Airtel customers 1,120GB free 4G data, free Airtel TV premium, and unlimited calling when purchasing the Redmi Note 7 Pro. There will also be an included ultra-slim case with the phone.
Redmi Note 7 Pro: Specs & Features
The phone will sport a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ LTPS in-cell display with a 2,340 x 1,080 px resolution, tiny 1.95mm bezels, and a tiny water-drop notch on the top. Under the hood, it will be powered by a Snapdragon 675 chipset, coupled with 6GB of RAM/128GB of storage which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD slot.

In terms of camera, the phone still sports a 48MP camera but instead of the Samsung GM1 sensor, it will boast a Sony IMX586 one. The main rear sensor will be paired with a 5MP sensor for depth sensing. In addition, it also gets EIS, PDAF, HDR, 1080 video recording, AI scene detection, AI Portrait 2.0, and Super Night Scene mode. For security, it comes with a fingerprint sensor mounted on the rear.

Up front, there will be a 13MP selfie camera for taking selfies and video calling. Its connectivity options include GPS, Infrared sensor, Wi-Fi, a headphone jack, FM Radio, USB-C port, dual-SIM slots, and Bluetooth 5.
For software, it will run MIUI which is based on the latest Android 9 Pie at launch. There will be a 4,000 mAh battery to keep the phone ticking along with support for Quick Charge 4.0.
