Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G Unveiled With Snapdragon 855 Plus & 30W Wireless Charging

Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has just been introduced in China with a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, 30W wireless charging, 40W fast charging, and triple rear cameras.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has been introduced in the Chinese market. The phone arrived as a refreshed model of the Xiaomi Mi 9 that launched earlier in the year. It is packed with a slightly more powerful processor than the Mi 9, along with with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage, as well as, Vapour Chamber cooling technology. It is also the first phone in the world to support the 30W wireless charging solution.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G: Price
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G is priced at CNY 3,699 (around Rs. 36,900) in China for the 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage option. The price goes up to CNY 3,799 (around Rs. 37,900) for the 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage model and CNY 4,099 (around Rs. 40,900) for the 12GB of RAM / 256GB of storage variant. You can also grab the top-end variant with 12GB of RAM / 512GB of storage for CNY 4,299 (around Rs. 42,900). The phone will be available for sale from 27 September in two color variants - Dream White and Titanium Black.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G: Specifications
The Mi 9 Pro 5G sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a water-drop notch for the selfie camera. For security, it has an in-display fingerprint reader. There is a Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset ticking at its core along with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage. As mentioned, it also features Vapour Chamber cooling system for heat dissipation. According to Xiaomi, the technology can reduce the processor core temperature by 10.2°C.

The handset comes with seven antenna band for the next-generation 5G network that is claimed to deliver an impressive speed of up to 1.78GB per second. Fueling the handset is a 4,000 mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging technology as well as 30W Mi Turbo wireless charging solution. It is the fastest wireless charging technology in the smartphone industry and is claimed to charge the phone from 0 to 50% in 25 minutes or fully charge it in just 69 minutes. It also supports the 10W reverse wireless charging feature.
In terms of camera, the handset features a triple camera setup, including a 48MP main sensor with f/1.75 lens, 12MP shooter with f/2.2 lens, and a 16MP shooter with f/2.2 lens on the rear. For selfies and video chats, it has a 20MP snapper with f/2.0 lens on the front. In terms of software, it boots Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 11 at launch.
