Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition Unveiled: SND765G, Periscope Camera, Priced At Around Rs. 22,600

Basically, the Mi 10 Youth Edition still has the same design as the Mi 10 Lite that launched in Europe in March but comes with a few minor camera upgrades.

Along with MIUI 12, Xiaomi has just launched the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G at an event held in China. Despite having the same design and internals as the Mi 10 Lite (introduced in Europe last month), this phone comes with a few minor camera upgrades, including the ability to zoom up to 50x.

Users can start pre-ordering the phone in China and it is expected to hit the stores on April 30. Here is the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G price for each variant of the device:
- 6GB RAM + 64GB storage: CNY 2,099 (around Rs. 22,600)
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 2,299 (around Rs. 24,700)
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 2,499 (around Rs. 26,900)
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 2,799 (around Rs. 30,100)
Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G: Specifications and features
Like the Mi 10 Lite, the Mi 10 Youth Edition for the Chinese market is equipped with an AMOLED screen, that features a water drop on the front and a rectangular camera cluster on the back. The phone comes with a glass back, that is slightly curved on the sides in order to bring the most comfortable grip for users.
The Mi 10 Youth Edition is only 7.88mm thick and weighs 192 grams, which is quite respectable with a 4,160mAh battery inside. The phone comes with 5 different color options, including White, Pink, Blue, Black, and Mint.
The phone still has a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen supports HDR10 +, 180Hz sampling rate, up to 800 nits brightness, and protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5.
Inside, the phone is powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 765G processor, paired with an Adreno 620 GPU, up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 256GB UFS 2.1 storage.
The biggest difference between the Mi 10 Youth Edition for the Chinese market and the Mi 10 Lite for the international market is the camera. Specifically, the Mi 10 Youth Edition has an upgraded 48MP camera system, replacing the depth sensor with a periscope telephoto lens. Here is the phone’s setup at the back:
- 48MP main sensor, f / 1.8 aperture
- 8MP, f / 3.4 periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom (focal length 15mm - 122mm) and up to 50x digital zoom.
- 8MP f / 2.2 ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 120-degree viewing angle
- 2MP macro sensor, f / 2.4 aperture
In addition, Xiaomi also said that the phone is integrated with all the high-end camera features offered on the Mi 10 flagship. Meanwhile, the selfie camera on the front of the device remains the same and has a resolution of 16MP.
Under the hood, the phone comes with a 4,160mAh battery, that supports 22.5W fast charging technology. Other notable features include in-display fingerprint sensor, dual-mode 5G network (SA & NSA), dual SIM, NFC connectivity, 3.5mm headphone jack, infrared, dual-frequency GPS, Hi-Res Audio, and 0.91cc speakers.
