Similar to many other businesses, multiple smartphone producers are also having a tough time dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak. With the Indian government imposing an India total lockdown for 21 days, many brands have announced to delay their products’ launch indefinitely, including Realme, Vivo, Xiaomi, and more. We have reported that the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max sales and Vivo V19 launch in India have been postponed.
Now, the list of affected smartphones has two new names, which are Realme Narzo 10 series and Xiaomi Mi 10. Both of them were slated to make their debut in India at the end of the month, but have been canceled. All of them have also stopped their factories in the country and shifting their efforts and time to helping the Indian government by offering masks to healthcare works and doctors.
For now, no smartphone makers have announced a specific timeline of the rescheduled launch events. All we know is that there won’t be any new smartphones launched in India before the India total lockdown ends.
Realme Narzo 10A & Narzo 10: Specifications & Features
Narzo is Realme’s new sub-brand that is said to be placed between the Realme 6 and Realme C series and they were teased to feature decently-powerful performance at an affordable price. The two smartphones were expected to be introduced on 26th March, but that clearly didn’t happen.
The Realme Narzo 10A and Narzo 10 specs were confirmed to include a 6.5-inch display with a water-drop notch at the top and a screen-to-body ratio of 89.8 percent. They were also teased to pack a massive 5,000 mAh battery under the hood and support fast charging technology. Around the back, official teaser posters confirmed that the Narzo 10A will have a triple camera cluster while the Narzo 10 will have a quad-camera cluster with a 48MP main sensor. Both of them are also said to ship with Android 10-based Realme UI out of the box and feature a fingerprint reader on the rear for biometric security.
Xiaomi Mi 10: Specifications & Features
Many Xiaomi fans in India would be very disappointed with this news. Xiaomi is another victim of the India lockdown as its Xiaomi Mi 10 India launch, slated to take place on 31 March, has now been canceled. This is truly is a piece of bad news as the Xiaomi Mi 10 is the brand’s first flagship smartphone to arrive in India for such a long time. In case you are not aware, Xiaomi hasn’t released its flagship in India since the Xiaomi Mi 5.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ (2,340 x 1,080p) resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Similar to many other flagships launched this year, the handset also features the punch-hole design with a cut-out at the top left corner for a selfie camera. It draws power from a Snapdragon 865 chipset at the helm along with an Adreno 650 GPU. The handset is available in multiple variants with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
It has Android 10 pre-installed with MIUI 11 running on top to take care of the software side of things. The device also carries a 4,780 mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging tech over a USB-C port and an under-display fingerprint for security. Connectivity-wise, it supports 4G LTE, dual-mode 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, GPS / Galileo, USB-C port, and Bluetooth 5.1. In terms of camera, there are a 32MP camera on the front for selfies and quad rear cameras at the back of the phone. The rear camera setup includes a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP portrait camera, and a 2MP depth-sensing camera.
