Chinese phone maker Xiaomi has rolled out its latest MIUI 10.3 Global Stable update to users of the Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. Several users confirmed that they have received the update on their devices, noting that the update will bring Android 9 Pie along with the Dark Mode across the entire system.
It was reported that the MIUI 10.3 Global Stable update will take up about 1.6GB. Members of MIUI Forum said that the update on Note 5 Pro handsets will carry MIUI 10.3.1.0.PEIMIXM version. Meanwhile, the Redmi 6 Pro will carry MIUI 10.3.2.0.PDMMIXM, which is a little different. In these updates, there will also be the May 2019 security patch for Android.

Like in other Xiaomi updates in the past, these stable versions will come to users in phases, so it will be days or weeks until the release to all Redmi 6 Pro and Note 5 Pro devices is complete. If you own these smartphones and haven’t received the update yet, you can check manually by opening Settings > About phone, then tap on System Updates.
Talking about what changes come in the Android 9 Pie MIUI 10.3, the gesture-based navigation system and the standard features of Android Pie are still the same as in the Beta update. In addition, Xiaomi has included support for face unlock for installed apps as well as the system-wide dark mode.

The Chinese phone maker released the Redmi Note 5 dated 2017, running on Android 7.1 with Nougat-based MIUI 9.2 on top. Then in 2018, the company rolled out an upgrade to Android 8.1 Oreo alongside MIUI 9.5. You may also want to note that the Redmi Note 5 Pro has been Xiaomi’s best-selling phone in terms of the middle segment in India. At the time of launch, it was priced at Rs 13,999, which has decreased to Rs 10.999 now. The manufacturer hasn't discontinued this model thought its newer offerings, the Note 7 Pro and the Note 6 Pro, have been selling really well in the market.
