Xiaomi started its MWC campaign by introducing its first phone with 5G network support, the Mi Mix 3 5G. The Chinese phone maker already launched the standard Mi Mix 3 in 2018 with the Snapdragon 845 chipset, a bezel-less display, and the new sliding camera mechanism. The Mi Mix 3 5G comes with pretty much the same specs from the last year’s Mi Mix 3, except for the Snapdragon 855 SoC and Snapdragon X50 5G modem to enable the 5G network support. With the new additions, the device is claimed to offer a download speed of up to 2Gbps+.

Mi MIX 5G: Price & Availability

The Mi Mix 3 5G is priced in the Western Europe market from €599 (around Rs. 48,300) which possibly makes the phone the cheapest 5G phone out there. People who are interested in the phone can buy it in two colour variants: Sapphire Blue and Onyx Black from Xiaomi’s official stores, retail stores, and Mi.com from May this year.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G: Specs & Features

As mentioned, there are not a lot of differences between the Mi Mix 3 5G and the standard Mi Mix 3. Both of them feature the new sliding mechanism for the selfie camera as well as sport a 6.39-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a screen-to-body of 93.4 percent. Instead of a Snapdragon 845 SoC on the standard model, the 5G version will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset with Snapdragon X50 mode and the Hybrid Cooling System. The phone also packs up to 128GB of storage and 6GB RAM.

In terms of camera, the 5G version sports a dual camera setup, including a 12MP main sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 12MP secondary camera with an f/2.4 aperture on the back. The camera setup is packed with features like AI scene detection, dual phase detection autofocus, 4-axis OIS, portrait photography support, and 960fps slow-motion recording. On the front, it also comes with a dual selfie camera setup including a 24MP Sony IMX 576 main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor and they are located in a slider.
As using 5G network will likely consume more power, Xiaomi opts for a 3,800 mAh battery with support for Q.C 4+ on the 5G model instead of a 3,200 mAh on the standard one. There will be a dedicated button for Google Assistant as well as a fingerprint sensor mounted on the rear.
