Vivo silently releases a new phone in its Vivo Y-series called Vivo Y91C 2020. The handset was a rebranded model of the Vivo Y91C that launched last year. The handset comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ LCD panel with a water-drop notch, an Helio P22 SoC, and a 13MP single rear camera. It is quite surprising that the brand still uses the outdated Android 8.1 on this phone, while every other smartphone makers have at least used Android 9 Pie on their budget smartphones.

The handset is priced at around Rs. 8,400 for its sole variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage. There are two color variants available for purchase, which are Ocean Blue and Fusion Black.

The Vivo Y91C 2020 sports a 6.22-inch LCD display that offers HD+ resolution. The display features the conventional dewdrop notch design, which helps the phone achieve a screen-to-body ratio of 88.6 percent. At the back, it gets a polycarbonate body curved on the sides. The device measures 155.11x75.09x8.28 mm and weighs 163.5g. If you want to unlock the phone using biometric authentication, you can use Face Unlock as there is no fingerprint sensor on this phone. In terms of camera, it has a 13MP single camera at the back with an f/2.2 lens and an LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera housed on the water-drop notch.
The handset is only available in a single memory configuration with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot). They are paired with an Helio P22 octa-core chipset under the hood. The most surprising thing is that the handset still runs on the outdated Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with FunTouchOS 4.5 on top. Fueling the setup is a 4,030 mah battery without any fast charging support. Connectivity-wise, it has a micro-USB port, a headphone jack, dual SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
