If the AI detects that these photos are 'sensitive', the Tone E20 will immediately notify users and automatically delete the image, instead of storing it.

Tone Mobile - a low-cost smartphone manufacturer in Japan has recently launched its latest smartphone called Tone E20 with a price of about $180 (around Rs. 13,000), Tone E20 quickly received attention when it was the only smartphone on the market today equipped with a unique feature that prevents users from taking naked selfies.

Tone E20 Feature 1

Accordingly, Tone E20's photography app is equipped with a feature called Smartphone Protection, which integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning technology. After the user takes a photo, the Smartphone Protection feature will analyze that photo. If the AI detects that these photos are 'sensitive', the phone will immediately display an error notification to the user and automatically delete the image, instead of storing it in the photo library.

Notably, Tone E20 can also connect to smartphones of parents and guardians. When the app detects an inappropriate image, the phone will automatically send a notification email to the paired smartphone, including a range of information such as the date and time, GPS location, and the photo that has already been blurred.

The brand said that this is a feature that can help parents have better control when they allow their kids to use smartphones. In the context of the increasingly toxic Internet environment, the Smartphone Protection feature is claimed by the manufacturer to protect minors from bad behaviors.

However, building this feature into the original camera app of the device also creates many holes to overcome. For example, users can download and use a third-party photography app, or use another photo storage app.
