The acquisition of Musical.ly's high-impact and tune-by-date-by-bit-by-tee-teen apps is bringing great benefits to ByteDance. This year, for the purpose of penetrating the US market, the company has merged ist video application TikTok and Musical.ly.
Thanks to this business strategy, today TikTok has beaten Facebook (currently in second place) to become the most downloaded application in the United States. In particular, it has surpassed social networking moguls such as YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram in the number of people installing it for the first time in September this year.
The TikTok installer in the US last month was higher than Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube and Facebook, according to data from Sensor Tower. On September 29, it passed four rival applications on daily downloads, the company said, with 29.7% of downloads from these applications.
On October 30th, TikTok's market share increased compared to its peers, reaching 42.4% of downloads among social networking applications in the past few days.
In September, TikTok's installments increased by 31% compared to August, corresponding to 3.81 million on both Google Play and App Store. Meanwhile, Facebook only had 3.53 million first installs.
TikTok installed in the United States is up 237% annually compared to 1.13 million in October 2017.
When TikTok is growing its number of adult participants, it has surpassed the top social apps in the App Store. Typically, TikTok's No. 4 position now surpasses Messenger and Facebook respectively at positions fifth and seventh. However, YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat stay solid at first, second and third place.
However, according to data from the App Annie, it has even occupied No. 3 in the ranking of free applications.
The Apptopia application researcher reports on the similar findings, in terms of the powerful development of TikTok. But the engagement rate of its user every day was still behind to other apps in the group. According to Apptopia, Facebook has 96% interaction rate, Instagram, Snapshat and YouTube all have 95% interaction rate, while TikTok has only 29%.
In the same month, Instagram reached 1 billion per month, TikTok (or Douyin in China) has 500 million monthly active users globally across 150 countries and regions.
