According to Transsion India’s CEO, Arijeet Talapatra, Tecno Mobiles is scheduled to unveil a new entry-level-oriented ‘Spark’ sub-brand in the country soon. This new sub-brand will aim at the price segment of Rs. 5,000 - Rs. 8,000.
At present, the new Phantom lineup is positioned in the price range of Rs. 12,000 - Rs. 15,000 while its Camon lineup belongs to the price segment of Rs. 8,000 - Rs. 10,000. The exec said:

According to the exec, Tecno is known as an offline smartphone brand, however, it is developing its online segment and is winning more online customers. Recently, the online market contributes nearly 40 – 42% of the overall smartphone market.
Additionally, the exec also stated that the company would not compete against any brand’s market share when asked if it plans to take on the likes of Xiaomi with its new Phantom 9. However, it will pay attention to achieving online phone market share. He said:
It is known that Tecno has invested in several production units in India. And it would invest in Research & Development Centers in this country in the coming time. Previously, the company already had SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) capabilities, and then CKD (Complete Knock Down) capabilities. The CEO said:
