The upcoming Sony flagship might be called Xperia N1 instead of Xperia XZ4 and it is tipped to launch at the MWC 2019 on 25 February.

The Japanese giant Sony will release its new flagship, which is rumored to come with the name Xperia XZ4, at the upcoming MWC 2019 on 25 February. The handset is tipped to be the world’s first phone to have a tall, cinema-grade display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Now, ahead of the release date, the real photos of the next Sony flagship phone have just been leaked.

The images show a phone with a tall display compared to other Sony handsets. A pill-shaped icon is also spotted at the bottom which should be similar to the one on Google Pixel devices to replace the old navigation buttons.

As can be seen in the recent render of the alleged Xperia XZ4 on Chinese microblogging Weibo, the handset will likely to come with a 6.5-inch 4K display and supports HDR tech. The leaks also claim that while the Japanese phone maker has changed the design of the home screen to take advantage of the phone’s tall display, it seems the new design doesn’t offer much advantage. Also, the render confirms that there will be no notch on the display, and its forehead will be trimmed to achieve the tall aspect ratio.

The upcoming Sony flagship phone is expected to feature new imaging solution, one of which is the improved IMX666 sensor. However, a Weibo user disputed the information, saying that the sensor is still being developed. The said blogger also claims that the Japanese phone maker will use its IMX500 and IMX664 sensors in the phone’s triple camera system on the rear.

The Sony IMX500 supports for 40MP resolution, and it is a 1/1.7-inch sensor while the IMX500 is a 1/1.8-inch sensor with support for 48MP resolution. There is also a rumor suggesting that the phone will be launch under the name Xperia N1 and comes packed with top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 SoC and 6GB RAM as well as 128GB storage.

The Xperia N1 will likely come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, run the latest Android 9.0 Pie, and it is IP68 certified, according to iGeekPhone. The Xperia N1 is tipped to launch at a price of £799 (approx. Rs 73, 450) for the variant with 128GB of storage, while the one with 256GB of storage might cost £899 (approx Rs 82,250). The leaked prices are in line with the recent leak where the source tipped that the phone would launch at a price of 7,999 CNY (approx. Rs. 83,800).
