The Samsung Galaxy Fold, though initially having some problems (relatively serious), is still a perfect example of an emerging trend and will be popular in the smartphone market in the future. This new smartphone gives users more display space to use, while still ensuring the compact and convenient as it is much more portable than a tablet and can be easily carried in a pocket.
Of course, with such great potential, Samsung has to continually research many solutions to further improve this product. The proof is that the company has filed a patent for a completely new smartphone with dual displays along with an advanced Magnetic Hinge system. The patent for this dual-screen device has actually surfaced online since the end of December 2018.
From the render, it can be seen that the new hinge mechanism is virtually hidden on the outside, allowing the two monitors to be placed closer together, giving the experience of less interrupted viewing experience by a nasty gap between two screens like today's dual-screen smartphones.
According to the patent, the Korean technology giant can equip smartphones with a larger screen by pairing two electronic devices together via a hinge. This solution helps further improve the viewing experience while maintaining portability. At the present time, although many companies have tried, it is quite difficult to create a hinge in the middle of the device without it being invisible. With new technology, Samsung will make devices with hinges that are less visible.
The risks Samsung faces with the Galaxy Fold have caused many consumers to be cautious in purchasing a foldable phone. Therefore, devices with this new hinge mechanism are more likely to appeal to this group of consumers. It is known that Samsung will introduce some dual-screen smartphones at CES 2020, which is ongoing right now. Let's wait and see.
