It seems like Samsung is gearing a new camera module for its upcoming Galaxy S30 smartphone, according to a newly discovered plan. The handset may come with 6 cameras, all of which could move and tilt independently to take the best photo.
Specifically, LetsGoDigital has shared a new patent from Samsung called “Apparatus and method for operating multiple cameras for digital photography.” The site has turned created illustrations of what the 6-lens camera module could look like.

While some high-end smartphones already have impressive camera modules, six cameras that tilt and move separately is the next level.
According to the patent, to pack six cameras on the back of a phone, Samsung would have to arrange them horizontally. The cameras are divided into two rows, each containing three lenses, one above another. This way, Samsung will be able to fit all of them at the top of the device’s casing.
Though the camera setup would look a bit odd, it will allow for incredible photos, so it’s still worth it.

Of the six cameras, five are wide-angle one, they may have the same or one camera will feature a higher resolution. The last one is a telephoto camera. The best thing about this camera module is that all the lenses can move and tilt in their housing to generate exceptional angles.
This will allow for “pano-bokeh,” as named in the patent, which essentially means panoramic photos with blurred backgrounds. With so many cameras and such independence, managing other photo effects should be easy too, which current smartphones cannot do yet.

The cameras can also work as an entity for a high resolution, focus, and frame rate in an image. This would be really useful for catching fast movement.
The Samsung Galaxy S30 won’t come out until 2021 or so, but this information is already enough to stir the market and consumers.
