The South Korean giant, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 probably swaps all physical buttons for capacitive pads, reported ETNews, a South Korean outlet.
Accordingly, users will press on capacitive areas on the device to fiddle with the power or volume. They will presumably be in the same position on upper edges of the smartphone’s sides. And if the report is right, the Bixby button was also replaced because it alleges that the South Korean giant wants to have a “keyless” device.
Additionally, the company will also replace physical button with capacity pads on some low-end and mid-range smartphones in its series such as the Samsung Galaxy A lineup.
It is known that Samsung is not the first one to offer button-less experience. For instance, Meizu Zero, which is a futuristic phone revealed in the beginning of 2019, also has button-less design. So far, there has been no information about the time as well as the market that this device will be offered to customers. However, the latest rumour about Samsung’s button-less phone is not coming completely out of left field.
Other devices have certainly been on track of capacitive pads experiment. For instance, the Nubia Red Magic Mars gets its buttons put along one side’s edges. Therefore, they look like shoulder buttons when rotating the handset horizontally.
The report sounds exciting, we still should take the information with a pinch of salt. Previous exciting leaks such as in-display fingerprint scanner were tipped for much earlier smartphones of Samsung. However, this technology has just integrated in the Galaxy S10 series although it was said to be equipped in the Galaxy Note 9, S9 or even Note 8 and S8.
Samsung is probably silently working on the idea, but it is not certain that the Galaxy Note 10 will feature the button-less design first in the Galaxy series.
