Besides the new and interesting rotating/swiveling camera design, the new Samsung Galaxy A80 is the first handset to come with a Snapdragon 730 SoC. The latest addition to the Galaxy A series was just now spotted on benchmarking platform AnTuTu and it showed what this new processor is capable of.

With the Snapdragon 730 SoC and an Adreno 618 GPU, the handset scored 207,082 points which is even comparable to the powerful Kirin 970 and Snapdragon 835 SoC. Even though those two are date processors, they were once the flagship products from respective makers. The Galaxy A80 can’t be as fast and powerful as the top flagships, the advantage of this new Galaxy A phone shines in terms of the power efficiency due to the 8nm process. The new Qualcomm’s chipset, the Snapdragon 730 SoC, comes with 6 Kryo 460 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz.

To recall, the Galaxy A80 sports a massive 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with a rotating and pop-up camera setup that can take photos at both sides. The setup includes a 48MP primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, a secondary 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a third ToF camera. As for memory configuration, it comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Powering the phone is a 3,700mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

For security, it features an on-screen fingerprint scanner, and it runs the latest Android 9.0 Pie with Samsung’s OneUI on top.

It is expected to be priced at $730 (around Rs. 50,400) and come in Angel Gold, Ghost White, Phantom Black color variants. It will be up for sale from 29 May.
