Samsung first released the Galaxy A5 in late 2014 and with each new model coming in the following years, the company added updates and tweaks in design to the smartphone. Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 was the third model of this handset, which looks like a flagship phone, performs like a mid-tier device, and has a price tag somewhere in between. Regarding display, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) houses a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that measures 5.2 inches, supports 16M colors, and has a screen-to-body ratio of 71.5%. In addition, the screen resolution is 1080x1920 pixels with approximately 424ppi density. It’s protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
In terms of photography, the primary camera lies on the back with a resolution of 16MP and an aperture of f/1.9. It comes with an LED flash, HDR mode, and panorama mode. The camera also allows video recording at 1080p, 30 fps. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/1.9, allowing users to shoot videos at 1080p, 30 frames per second.
Besides, the Galaxy A5 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but you can upgrade the device to Android 8 Oreo. The phone is powered by the Exynos 7880 chip. It features 3GB of RAM with two options for internal memory, 32GB or 64GB, along with a microSD card slot to expand the storage by up to 256GB.
The smartphone also packs a 3,000 battery, offering up to 53 hours of battery life and 18W fast charging. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Finally, the smartphone comes in four colors, including Peach Cloud, Blue Mist, Gold Sand, and Black Sky.

Samsung announced the Galaxy A5 on January 2, 2017. The smartphone then went on sale for customers of Samsung in India in March.
Before that, the company launched the first A5 in November 2014 and introduced the second A5 in February 2016.
