Realme has just officially announced its new smartphone, Realme XT. This makes the company the second OEM to have a smartphone equipped with a 64MP primary camera. This is a step towards competing with the newly-launched Xiaomi's Redmi Note 8. So, what interesting features does Realme XT offer, apart from its 64MP camera?
The first and perhaps the highlight of the Realme XT is the 64MP primary sensor. The smartphone has a quad-camera module on the rear along with a selfie camera on the front. The rear camera cluster also includes a 2MP depth lens, a 2MP macro camera, as well as an 8MP ultra wide-angle lens.
On the front, the phone has a 16MP camera for taking selfies. Realme also revealed that they have used Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor for the 64MP camera. The front camera uses a Sony IMX 471 sensor.
Compared to the Realme X, there are some clear differences in design. During the launch event of Realme XT, the company confirmed that the new phone is not a complete replacement for Realme X. They only see this as a camera-focused phone with slightly more advanced setup.
The most obvious change here is that the Realme XT doesn't have a pop-up selfie camera and uses a standard notch. The phone has a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The use of the Gorilla Glass 5 rear glass has greatly improved the build quality on the Realme XT. The phone brings significantly more premium feeling when holding than the previous devices, especially in the all-new Pearl White variant. In addition, the phone also has a beautiful Pearl Blue color version.
In terms of processing power, the Realme XT is slightly upgraded compared to Realme X. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 712 SoC, paired with up to 8GB RAM, which is good enough to handle most of the tasks users need. Meanwhile, the Realme XT still runs ColorOS 6 based on Android 9.0 Pie. The operating system is well combined with the hardware and provides a comfortable experience in the mid-range segment.
The Realme XT is packed with a 4,000mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology. Basically, the device can entirely meet the basic needs of users in a long day. The company also provides a 20W charger in the box.
The Realme XT has the starting price of Rs. 15,999 for the 4GB + 64GB model. The 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants will cost Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 18,999, respectively.
