OPPO’s former sub-brand Realme planned to hold an event at MWC 2020 in Barcelona to announce the Realme X50 Pro 5G along with several other products. However, due to the MWC 2020 cancelation over the coronavirus outbreak, the brand now announces that it will introduce the Realme X50 Pro in an online event, similar to what Xiaomi did with the Xiaomi Mi 10 series yesterday. Realme will live stream the event taking place in Madrid, Spain on 24 February. Similarly, OPPO also announced that the launch event for the OPPO Find X2 on 22 February is also canceled and moved to March, though we are not sure whether the event will be held offline or online.
Realme said in an official statement: “Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, realme has been concerning about the effects and working on alternatives of all possible situations, including having planned our event undertaken by our European team based in Spain without any staff from China. Keeping in light with the impact of the virus and the cancellation of MWC 2020, realme has decided to cancel the participation at MWC Barcelona 2020, accordingly”.
Realme X50 Pro 5G: Specifications
The Realme X50 Pro 5G specifications were recently revealed by Realme’s VP Xu Qi Chase. According to a screenshot of its ‘About’ section, the handset will come with Android 10-based Realme UI 1.0. It will be driven by a Snapdragon 865 chipset and support 5G connectivity. One of its memory configurations will be 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage.
Today, the brand also teases on its Twitter account that the Realme X50 Pro 5G will support 65W SuperDart Charge technology, which is one of the fastest standards on the market.
