Realme, formerly an Oppo’s subsidiary, is now a separate smartphone brand with a very fast growth rate. Realme has been taking significant steps in cementing and consolidating its Indian market’s position in a short time only, having just launched the first smartphone six months ago.
Since that point, Realme launched 4 more smartphones, with this Realme U1 being the latest handset into the affordable mid-range phone segment.

The latest Realme U1’s price starts at Rs. 11,999 and it is pretty similar to the Realme 2 Pro, but some major changes in its specs and cameras set the phone apart and help it get a more affordable price.

Price and Availability
With the starting price of Rs. 11,999, the Realme U1 has the lowest price among the 3 handsets in this comparison. However, the base variant of this device comes with 3GB RAM/32GB inbuilt storage, which explains the price difference to some extent.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro’s starting price is Rs. 13,999 and the Honor 8X’s starting price is Rs. 14,999 but both devices’ base variant have 4GB RAM/64GB inbuilt storage. Realme did offer a 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant of the Realme U1, but it is priced a bit higher, at Rs. 14,499.

You can buy the Honor 8X and the Realme U1 on Amazon India, while Flipkart is the only purchase option for the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The Xiaomi and Honor phones are also available in the Honor and Xiaomi e-stores and in some select offline stores as well.
Design and Display
All three devices in this comparison all have notches in their displays, but the design of those notches are pretty different across three handsets.
While the Honor 8X sports the biggest 6.5-inch display but has a slightly bigger regular notch, the Realme U1 features a 6.3-inch FullHD+ display with the smallest waterdrop-style notch. And the Xiaomi phone features a 6.26-inch display with the widest notch among three handsets.

The Realme U1 has a glass-like polycarbonate back that can add to the phone a glossy effect, while the Honor 8X features a glass build at its back with a metal frame and the Redmi Note 6 sports a classic metal build. Therefore, it is pretty safe to conclude that the Realme phone does not really feel as premium as the others.

Specifications
All of these devices being compared here have specs that are similar to each other, despite having three different SoCs. While the Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with the oldest Snapdragon 636 SoC, the Honor 8X is powered by the Kirin 710 SoC and the Realme U1 sports the new MediaTek Helio P70 SoC.
While the base variant of the two Honor and Xiaomi phones has 4GB RAM/64GB storage, it is 3GB RAM/32GB storage for the Realme U1. While Honor 8X has the highest option of 6GB RAM/128GB storage, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6’s RAM can get up to 6GB.
