Realme Q Announced With Four Rear Cameras & Snapdragon 712 SoC

Realme Q has been announced in the company’s home market, China. The handset is announced as a rebranded model of the Realme 5 Pro that already made its debut in India last month. It comes with a quad-camera system at the back with a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor, a water-drop notched display, a large battery, and a Snapdragon 712 chipset. Aside from that, the device is also said to feature a waterproof design, but it is not IP certified. In addition, the Realme Q also comes with a much more aggressive price compared to the recently-announced Realme 5 Pro.

Realme Q: Availability & Price

The handset is priced at CNY 998 in China (around Rs. 10,100) for the entry-level variant with 4GB of RAM + 64GB of storage. With that price tag, the Realme Q is roughly Rs. 4,000 cheaper than its sibling Realme 5 Pro with similar specifications. The price goes up to CNY 1,198 (around Rs. 12,100) for the 6GB of RAM / 64GB of storage variant. The best option you can get with the Realme Q is the 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage model for a price of CNY 1,498 (around Rs. 15,200).

It will be available for sale in Drill Blue and Diamond Green from 9 September.

Realme Q: Specifications

The phone comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a water-drop notch on top for a selfie camera and a 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The handset is driven by a Snapdragon 712 octa-core processor, coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Users have the option to expand its storage up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

In terms of camera, it is equipped with four cameras at the back, which are a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter with 119-degree FOV, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 lens. The cameras are backed by multiple features like Nightscape Mode, EIS, PDAF, 960fps slow-mo video record, 4K video recording @ 30fps, and Chrome Boost.

In terms of software, it ships with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with ColorOS 6 on top. Powering the handset is a 4,035 mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging solution (20W). For security, it has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear and supports Face Unlock feature as well.
