Realme 5 Unboxing: Crystal Pattern Back, Quad Rear Cameras, 5,000mAh Battery

The Realme 5 is packed with several upgrades over its predecessors, but it also has some weak points as expected for a mid-range smartphone.

Realme is skyrocketing with continuous launches of its devices, which is faster than any other firm on the market. Today, we will unbox the Realme 5 (a lower-end version than the Realme 5 Pro) to see if there is anything interesting.
Realme 5 comes in a small box, with all the special features of the device printed on the front!
The slogan of this handset, as well as the Realme 5 Pro, is "Dare to leap", referring to the quad rear camera setup of the phone.
The first 2 accessories we found were a transparent cover and a small SIM tray tool.
The Realme 5 still uses a microUSB port instead of USB Type-C like the Pro version, but the cable is tougher and has yellow paint on both ends.
The charging dock of the Realme 5 is also larger and longer than the usual one.
The charger has 5V/2A power, equivalent to 10W. This is a downgrade of the regular version compared to the Pro variant with a VOOC 3.0 20W charger.
In contrast, the Realme 5's highlights include battery capacity when it has a battery capacity of up to 5,000mAh, larger than the one with 4,035 mAh of the Pro version and nearly all other smartphones on the market!
Getting rid of the colorful design of Realme 3, the Realme 5 duo only has a single color rear finish.
However, when taking a closer look, you can see crystal patterns that can change shape under the sunlight. This design is simpler, but I think it is more beautiful than the previous model.
And the highlight of the Realme 5 series is its quad rear camera setup. The Realme 5 has a 12MP primary camera (48MP in the Pro variant), a 13mm 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Right next to the setup is a fingerprint sensor with fast reading speed.
Other specs of the phone include an 11nm Snapdragon 665 chipset, an Adreno 610 GPU, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB storage which can be expandable via microSD card slot.
With a 5,000mAh battery, the Realme 5 is also significantly thicker than other mid-range smartphones. However, with a reasonably curved back, it does not cause any uncomfortable feeling when holding the phone.
The side of the handset is nicely finished, and also has a dark purple paint just like the back!
The lower edge has a 3.5mm port, a micro USB port and a single speaker.
Another plus point of the Realme 5 is its screen size. The phone flaunts a 6.5-inch LCD display, but only with 720p resolution instead of Full HD.
The company keeps familiar dewdrop notch design for housing a 13MP selfie camera.
The lower bezel is still quite thick because this is a mid-range model. In addition, its LCD panel is not as curved as the AMOLED one of the higher-end models.
Overall this is a device with several upgraded points, but Realme still has to cut down some aspects to keep the phone's price in the mid-range segment.
