ZTE’s sub-brand is expected to launch its next flagship called Nubia Z20 on 8 August. The handset will arrive as the direct successor to the Nubia Z18 that launched last year. Up until now, we have only learned that the phone will come with top-notch cameras and a flexible display. Now, a Nubia smartphone has just passed through TENAA with NX627J model number with high-end specifications. The handset is speculated to be the upcoming Nubia Z20.
Nubia Z20: Specs
The most notable feature that we can see from the TENAA listing is the dual displays that will feature on the upcoming Nubia Z20, just like last year’s Nubia X. To be more specific, it will be equipped with a 6.42-inch OLED panel with FHD+ resolution on the front and a smaller 5.1-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution at the back. Both screens have an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 while the phone’s dimensions and weight are 158.63x75.23.9.2 mm and 186g.
The Nubia Z20 is listed to pack a 2.956 GHz processor, which hints that the handset might be powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC. However, that is only speculation, so we still have to wait for the official confirmation. Paired with the processor will be 6/8/12GB of RAM and 12/256/512GB of storage. It seems the handset will not support storage expansion via microSD card slot. Fueling it is listed to be a 3,900 mAh battery with fast charging support.
In terms of camera, it will sport three cameras in total. There will be a 48MP primary camera, a secondary 16MP camera, and the third camera’s detail is still unknown. Recently, a leaked image of the phone has recently surfaced and showed that it might feature a full-screen display on the front with no selfie camera.
Software-wise, it will ship with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, while there should be a rear-mounted fingerprint reader for security. However, we are not sure whether Nubia will still keep the dual fingerprint sensors on both sides just like what it did with the Nubia X.
