The MWC (Mobile World Congress) is taking place in Shanghai from 26 June and it will end on 28 June. Many phone makers have announced their 5G smartphones during the event, whereas other brands have taken this opportunity to showcase new technologies like in-display selfie camera and 120W fast charging solution. And Lenovo-owned Motorola also confirmed in its Weibo page that it will release the Motorola P50 during the event.
Soon after launching the Motorola One Vision in Brazil, Motorola confirmed via its Weibo account that it will bring the Motorola P50 in China in June. The photo of the phone was posted in May, suggesting that it might be the rebranded model of the Motorola One Vision for the Chinese market.
Without saying the exact release date of the P50, the brand confirmed that it will make its debut at the MWC event in Shanghai. Therefore, it will come out by 28 June. For now, we have no idea about the price and specifications of the upcoming phone. However, it is rumored to be a rebranded version of the One Vision.
To recall, the Motorola One Vision sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen with a punch hole on top of the display for a selfie camera. The display has an FHD+ (2,520 x 1,080) resolution and an impressive aspect ratio of 21:9. For security, it features a fingerprint scanner embedded on the Motorola logo at the back.
The handset is a part of Google’s Android One program and ships with Android 9.0 Pie. We believe that the Motorola P50 will boot the company’s ZUI which is based on Android 9 Pie. Powering the One Vision is an Exynos 9609 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable via a microSD card slot.
In terms of camera, there is a dual camera setup at the back of the phone. It includes a 48MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera. On the front, there is a 25MP camera for selfies and video chats. Powering the phone is a 3,500 mAh battery with 15W fast charging solution over a USB-C port.
