More Than 2 Millions Huawei Nova 5 Phones Sold In Just Five Weeks

It only took the Huawei Nova 5 series to reach 2 millions units sold and that doesn't even include the newly-launched Nova 5i Pro.

The Chinese giant Huawei announced its latest series dubbed Huawei Nova 5 on 21 June in China. The series includes three smartphones - Huawei Nova 5i, Nova 5, and Nova 5 Pro. In addition, they are also the first phones to come with the new Kirin 810 SoC, which is expected to feature in the upcoming mid-range smartphones from Huawei.

Huawei Nova 5 2 Millions

Only around five weeks after their official launch, the Huawei Nova 5 series is reported to reach 2 million units sold. This impressive figure is achieved without the Huawei Nova 5i Pro, which was just launched last Friday.

This announcement from the company arrived following its 4th consecutive weekly flash sale. Moreover, the series is currently available for the Chinese market only. We haven’t seen any Huawei Nova 5 phones make their way to other markets. The upcoming flash sale of the four Nova 5 smartphones, the Nova 5i Pro included, is set to take place on 2 August via JD.com and Vmall.com.

To recall, the series includes four smartphones -- Nova 5i, Nova 5i Pro, Nova 5, and Nova 5 Pro. All four smartphones come with a quad-camera setup. However, there are some significant differences between them.

The Nova 5i is the most affordable smartphone in the series with a Kirin 710 SoC, while the Nova 5 and Nova 5i Pro are powered by the more powerful Kirin 810 chipset. As told by the name, the Nova 5 Pro is the most premium in the series, and that is proven by the presence of the Kirin 980 SoC on the phone.

Security-wise, the Nova 5i and 5i Pro are equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, whereas the Nova 5 duo features the more advanced in-display fingerprint sensor. Interestingly, Huawei only goes for a 3,500mAh battery on the more premium Nova 5 and 5 Pro compared to the Nova 5i and 5i Pro with a larger 4,000mAh battery. However, the former supports much faster 40W charging solution in comparison with the Nova 5i (10W) and Nova 5i Pro (20W).
