Meizu 16s Launched With Snapdragon 855, 8GB RAM, & 48MP Camera

Meizu is a very underrated phone maker which delivers great value for money. The company just now announced a new flagship offering dubbed Meizu 16s. This new handset offers pretty much every feature that other flagships this year have. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 8GB RAM + 256GB of storage, minimal bezels, and an on-screen fingerprint scanner.

Alongside the handset, the Chinese phone maker also introduced several more products such as a USB Type-C to headphone jack that is touted to deliver better sound quality for 169 CNY (around Rs. 1,700), Meizu Pop 2 wireless earphones for 399 CNY (around Rs. 4,100), and a Meizu EP63 noise-cancelling headsets for CNY 499 (around Rs. 5,200).

Meizu 16s: Availability & Price

The phone is priced at 3,198 CNY (around Rs. 33,100) for the option with 6GB of RAM/128GB of storage while the 8GB of RAM/128GB of storage costs 3,498 CNY (around Rs. 36,300). The top-end model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will set you back by CNY 3,998 (around Rs. 41,500). It will come in a total of three color variants, including Phantom Blue, Pearl White, and Carbon Black.

The handset sports a 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 1,080 x 2,232p resolution with very thin bezels. Powering the phone is the latest Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

In the camera front, it comes with a dual camera setup, including a 48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture with OIS. The main sensor is paired with a 20MP IMX350 sensor with f/2.6 aperture with 3X lossless zoom. Its cameras are claimed to come with AI-backed scene recognition, portrait mode and Dual Super Night Scene mode for better low-light photography. Handling the selfies and Facial Recognition feature is a 20MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

As for software, the phone runs the latest Android 9.0 Pie with Meizu’s Flyme 7.3 on top. Powering the phone is a decent 3,600mAh cell with 24W fast charging support which is not as impressive as offerings from OnePlus, Xiaomi, or Huawei but it is still much faster than normal.
