Only one day after the Meitu V7 teaser poster, Meitu officially released its Meitu V7 with a triple selfie camera setup in the Chinese market. The handset comes in two models, a regular edition and a Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition. Both versions will feature a triple selfie camera setup and Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The Meitu V7 will most likely be the last device that is completely made by Meitu, since the company’s hardware business is going to handled by another China-based company, Xiaomi.
In the specification department, the highlight of the Meitu V7 is its selfie camera system. On the front, there will be a triple camera setup with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, an 8MP depth sensor, and a 12MP low-light sensor. The camera setup will be located in a pretty thick bezel on the top front of the phone, along with a two LEDs. Meanwhile, the rear camera setup will include 12MP, and 8MP sensors, supported by electronic and optical image stabilization and a dual LED flash as well.
The Meitu V7 will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 8GB RAM/128GB of storage. There will be a 6.21-inch Full-HD+ OLED display with a 2,248 x 1,080 pixels resolution and thick bezels on the top and a prominent chin at the bottom. The Meitu phone will be backed by a 3,500 mAh battery and run latest Android 9 Pie out of the box.
The regular model will be packed in a premium package with embossed and premium leather at the back as well as metal inlays and rivets. It will come with two color options which are Green Dream and Cabernet Orange and a price of 4,799 RMB (around Rs. 48,800).
The Tonino Lamborghini limited edition will also feature the same specs as on the regular model, but it will come in two more storage options of 256/512GB. At the back, the handset will have a red metal chassis with white leather. There will be 4 rivets with 18-karat gold plating at the bottom back of the phone. In additions, the logo of Tonini Lamborghini is located at around the center at the back while the Meitu logo is placed right under the rear camera setup. This limited edition model will come at a price of 8,888 RMB (around Rs. 90,400) and 10,888 RMB (around Rs. 1,10,800).
Generally speaking, the regular Meitu V7 appears to be a decent phone on paper. The Chinese company Meitu would have used its knowledge and expertise in imaging to further improve the devices’ camera software. Its Tonino Lamborghini Edition also sports a premium design. We will have to wait and see how it performs in real-world conditions.
