LG W20 Reportedly In The Works; Key Specs Revealed In Google Play Console Listing

LG appears to be working on the fourth addition to its W series, which already includes LG W10, W30, and W30 Pro. The upcoming offering will be called LG W20, according to its listing on Google Play Console. Apart from confirming the existence of the phone, the listing also reveals the key specs of the handset and includes a photo that shows the front design of the handset. It seems the LG W20 will come with a dewdrop notched display and a Spreadtrum SC9863A SoC.

LG W20: Expected Specifications & Features

The upcoming LG W20 will be positioned between the W10 and W30 in the budget segment. As per the Google Play Console listing, the handset will come with an HD+ display. The image on the listing shows that there will be a water-drop notch at the top of the display and a sizeable chin at the bottom. Since the photo doesn’t show the back design of the phone, we don’t know how many rear cameras the phone will carry. Software-wise, it will ship with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. 

As mentioned, this budget smartphone will get power from a Spreadtrum SC9863A SoC, which might sound unfamiliar to many of you. The chipset was released in 2018 and it has eight Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.6GHz, coupled with a PowerVR GE8322 GPU. 

For now, the brand hasn’t officially confirmed neither the existence of the LG W20 nor its launch date. We haven’t heard anything about it until its Google Play Console listing, which might indicate that it could be coming soon. 

Its sibling LG W10 and W30 were two first offerings in the LG W series in India. They were both announced in the country in June last year. The W10 was retailed at Rs. 8,999 while the W30 cost Rs. 9,999. With such a small gap between the two’s pricing, we are not sure how the company will position the LG W20.
