Apple’s newly released iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro are the successors of last year’s iPhone XS and XS Max. With this year’s release, Apple gives the two new flagships the third lens, an ultra-wide with a 120-degree depth of field, along with an upgrade for the two cameras from 2018’s models.
The two phones feel a bit better than iPhone XS and XS Max; however, the matte glass can sometimes be more slippery than glossy. According to Apple, the glass on the phone is more durable, and the fact that it is one piece adds to the overall look of the phone.
The camera bump might deter lots of potential buyers, and the design does not try to hide the giant square either. However, as many users will opt for a case, this problem can be somewhat lessened.
About the snappers’ performance, the standard ‘wide’ zoom, the whole screen will be dedicated to displaying the viewfinder. When users slide, instead of tap, on the telephoto and wide lenses, there will be a dial showing the zoom level in millimeters and multiples.
The cameras were quite fast in opening up and taking photos. When Pixel 4 is introduced, the image quality might beat that of Apple, but we are not so sure about the speed.
Apple has gone big when announcing that the A13 Bionic chip is the fastest ever in a smartphone, but for some reviewers, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max feel just as fast as the XS and XS Max.
This year, Apple has shifted part of its effort to improve battery life and machine learning. The company said that the iPhone 11’s cell life would be four hours longer than that of iPhone XS, and people seriously hope that the statement holds.
Overall, iPhone 11 is another well-made and excellent device from Apple. Stay tuned for a more detailed review coming soon.
