Are you tired of having to type a bunch of words when talking with friends? No more frustration, Instagram has a solution for you: Voice messages.
On Monday, Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform added voice messages to its mobile app without making any official announcements. The feature allows you to send short recorded audios to your friends.
If you have used the voice message feature on the Facebook mobile app before, this one is quite the same thing. To send an audio message, you need to press and hold the microphone button, record a short voiced message then send it to the chat box.
It sounds pretty standard for a feature. However, Instagram has added something a bit different in case you think holding the microphone button is troubling. You can just open your direct messages (DMs). When holding your phone close to your ear, you will hear a quiet beep. Next, say what you want and the phone will automatically record that. After that, tap the send button so that the recorded message can go to the other person.
Well, you still have to tap a button, but it’s still much better than holding it for a while.
Instagram users can enjoy this new and convenient feature on both Android and iOS handset devices. As reported by Tech Crunch, users can send an audio message up to 60 seconds long.
At present, Instagram has not made any comments about this quiet move.
From a simply photo-oriented social network, Instagram has been adding more and more features to its mobile app, allowing users to do more thing on the platform like replying to others’ comments, throwing a heart at a comment, chatting on its own message feature, sending gifs, reacting to messages, uploading and watching long videos with the TV feature.
Furthermore, recently there was news that Instagram may change the way your profile is arranged.
So, what’s the next move from Instagram, can you guess?
