Huawei Nova 7 SE, Nova 7 5G, Nova 7 Pro 5G: Specifications & Features
Huawei Nova 7 Pro 5G
Huawei Nova 7 Pro 5G is the top-end model in the series and rocks a 6.57-inch curved OLED panel that supports Full HD + resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. In addition, the device's screen has a low blue light certification from TUV Rheinland and has an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
Inside, Nova 7 Pro gets power from the Kirin 985 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB storage. If you don't know, Kirin 985 is a 5G chipset built on TSMC's 7nm process, supporting 2G / 3G / 4G and dual-mode 5G networks (SA / NSA).
On paper, the maximum download speed of the 5G modem on the Kirin 985 is 1277Mbps and the maximum upload speed is 173Mbps. Compared to the Snapdragon X55 modem built into the Snapdragon 865, Huawei's chipset is said to be about 40% faster when it comes to download speed, while the upload speed is up to 75% faster.
Moving to the back, Nova 7 Pro features a vertically arranged quad-camera system, including a 64MP f / 1.7 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, an 8MP periscope sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. Additionally, the handset also has dual 32MP + 8MP cameras on the front for selfies.
The camera setup is capable of 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and up to 50x digital zoom. In terms of video, the phone also supports high-definition stabilization, 1080p video recording, and 15x zoom.
Nova 7 Pro comes with a 4,000mAh battery, supporting 40W fast charging, which can charge the battery from 0 to 100% within 1 hour. All three smartphones in the Nova 7 series come pre-loaded with Android 10-based EMUI 10.1 interface out of the box and support NFC.
Huawei Nova 7
The Huawei Nova 7 5G features a similar design and comes with several features borrowed from the Nova 7 Pro. The phone sports a smaller 6.53-inch OLED panel, which still offers up to Full HD + resolution and a taller 20:9 aspect ratio. The handset uses the punch-hole design but only carries a single 32MP shooter at the upper left corner of the display for selfies.
It still has four cameras stacked vertically at the back with a 64MP sensor just likethe Nova 7 Pro, but the periscope lens is replaced by an 8MP telephoto sensor, which only offers 3x optical and 5x hybrid zoom. Meanwhile, the 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor and the 2MP macro sensor remain the same.
Similar to the Pro version, the Nova 7 still uses a Kirin 985 chipset and packs 8GB RAM, 128GB / 256GB storage. It also comes with a 4,000mAh battery, supports 40W fast charging, and has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Huawei Nova 7 SE
For the Nova 7 SE 5G, this is considered a watered-down version of the standard Nova 7. The phone is only equipped with a 6.5 inch IPS LCD panel with the same punch-hole at the left corner of the screen to accommodate 16MP selfie camera.
Nova 7 SE uses Kirin 820 5G processor, combined with 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB internal memory. The device comes with the same 4,000mAh battery and fast charging technology (40W), and 5G network. However, the device only has a fingerprint sensor mounted on the side, instead of under the screen like its siblings.
Talking about imaging capabilities, Nova 7 SE is equipped with quad cameras on the back with 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor, and 2MP macro sensor like the Nova 7 and 7 Pro. However, the telephoto camera has been replaced by a 2MP depth sensor.
