Huawei MediaPad M6 New Tablet With Kirin 980 SoC Unveiled

At the Huawei Nova 5 launch event, Huawei also announces a new tablet called Huawei MediaPad M6 with a Kirin 980 SoC, paired with 6/8GB of RAM.

At the Huawei Nova 5 event in China taking place today, Huawei announced its Huawei Nova 5 series, including the Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro, and Nova 5i. Apart from that, the brand also unveiled its latest addition to the MediaPad series, dubbed MediaPad M6. The new tablet is launched in the high-end segment with the HiSilicon Kirin 980 octa-core processor. The tablet comes in two variants with different display sizes - 8.4 inches and 10.8 inches.
Huawei MediaPad M6: Availability & Price
The 8.4-inch MediaPad M6 Wi-Fi only model is retailed at CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 20,200), while the LTE variant will set you back by CNY 2,399 (around Rs. 24,300). Moving to the 10.8-inch model, it is priced at CNY 2,229 (around Rs. 22,600) and CNY 2,699 (around Rs. 27,200) for the Wi-Fi and LTE options, respectively.
Interested buyers can purchase the 8.4-inch variant in Champagne Gold color, while Huawei offers one more color for the 10.8-inch model, Champagne Gold and Silver Ash. Both editions will be available for sale in the country from July.
Huawei MediaPad M6: Specs & Features
The two editions with 8.4-inch & 10.8-inch displays have quite a few similarities. The major difference between the two is their battery capacity and screen size.
Design-wise, they both feature the same metal unibody design and the same screen resolution of 1,600 x 2,560p. They are driven by the flagship Kirin 980 octa-core processor, aided with 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage which is expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card. For software, they ship with Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.1.
In terms of camera, both of them have a 13MP autofocus camera on the rear and an LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP fixed focus camera for selfies and video chat. Battery-wise, the 8.4-inch tablet is backed by a smaller 6,100 mAh battery, while the battery capacity on the 10.8-inch variant is 7,500 mAh. In addition, the 10.8-inch edition also has stylus support and it can also be attached to an external keyboard.
