Huawei Maimang 8 Goes Official: Triple Rear Cameras & Kirin 710 SoC

Huawei has just announced the Huawei Maimang 8 in its home market China with a triple rear camera setup and a Kirin 710 octa-core processor.

Huawei has just introduced a new offering dubbed Huawei Maimang 8 in its home market China as the successor to the Huawei Maimang 7 that launched last year. This new handset is launched in the mid-range segment while Huawei is having a hard time.
The key highlights of this phone include Kirin 710 octa-core processor, a nearly bezel-less display, triple rear camera setup, and a large battery.
Huawei Maimang 8: Price
The device is priced at CNY 1,899 (around Rs. 19,050) in China. It is available in Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black color variants and will go on sale in China from 12 June. It is unknown whether the Chinese company will bring the phone to India or now.
On the other hand, the company also announced its TC5200 802.11 ac dual-brand Gigabit router in the country with 4 antennas for CNY 269 (around Rs. 2,700).
Huawei Maimang 8: Specs & Features
The phone sports a 6.21-inch FHD+ panel with a tiny water-drop notch on the top for housing a selfie camera and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
Powering the phone is a Kirin 710 octa-core processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card slot.
In terms of camera, the new Huawei Maimang 8 sports a triple camera setup on the rear, including a 24MP main sensor, a secondary 2MP shooter, and a 16MP ultra-wide camera. Its cameras can record slow-mo video @480fps and support AI scene detection, and AI portraits. On the front, there is an 8MP snapper for taking selfies and video calling.
It is fueled by a decent 3,400 mAh battery and runs on Huawei’s EMUI 9.0 that is based on Android 9.0 Pie. For biometric security, it features a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear.
Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), 4G VoLTE, GPS + GLONASS, a micro-USB port, and Bluetooth v4.2 LE.
