Huawei Confirmed To Launch Huawei Maimang 8 On June 5 Via Posters

The upcoming Huawei Maimang 8 is the successor of the Maimang 7 and will be sold as the Mate 30 Lite in some other markets.

Although Huawei is rumoured to pause its smartphone production, it has recently released the launch date of a new smartphone. As per the company’s invitation, it will introduce the Huawei Maimang 8 at its event in home land taking place on 5th June. This shows that the previous reports were not true, and this Chinese tech giant will still produce new smartphones.

The Maimang 8 is expected to belong to mid-range segment and be the successor to the Maimang 7. In addition, it could go on sales as the Mate 30 Lite in some markets. Huawei has posted 3 posters to introduce its upcoming phone. These posters also revealed this device’s specifications.

According to the first poster, Huawei Maimang 8 will sport a 6.21-inch screen with a dewdrop notch and truly thin bezels. Meanwhile, the second one shows that the device will have up to 6GB of RAM + 128GB internal storage. Additionally, it reveals that the phone will have a headphone jack, in addition to a microUSB port for data transfer and charging.

Last, the third one shows the handset comes with triple rear cameras. Though it doesn’t offer much information about the setup, one sensor will have a 24MP resolution. And two remaining sensors are tipped to be a 16MP unit and a 2MP unit. The setup is vertically aligned on the device’s left side. On the back, the phone will feature a fingerprint sensor.

Although there has been no official information about the phone’s specifications, it is expected that the upcoming phone will feature a mid-range chipset as its predecessor is powered by a Kirin 710 SoC. The smartphone probably comes with GPU Turbo 2.0 made by Huawei for improved gaming performance. In addition, the handset will run Huawei's EMUI based on Android 9 Pie.
