Honor Play 3 & Honor 20S Go Official With Triple Rear Cameras

The Honor Play 3 and Honor 20 have now been announced in China. The two smartphones are launched in the mid-range segment under the honor brand. While the Honor Play 3 is the successor to last year’s Honor Play, the Honor 20S is a brand-new addition to the recently-announced Honor 20 series. Both of them come with a hole-punch display, triple rear camera setup with a 48MP main sensor, a glass-sandwich design, a beefy battery with fast charging solution support. Moreover, the Honor 20S is powered by the latest mid-range Huawei’s Kirin 810 chipset and an impressive selfie camera.

Honor 20s & Honor Play 3: Prices

The Honor Play 3 is priced at CNY 999 (around Rs. 10,100) for the 4GB of RAM / 64GB of storage option. The price goes up to CNY 1,299 (around Rs. 13,100) for the two variants with 4GB of RAM / 128GB storage and 6GB of RAM / 64GB of storage.

As for the Honor 20S, it is retailed at CNY 1,899 (around Rs. 19,100) for the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage option and CNY 2,199 (around Rs. 22,100) for the 8GB RAM / 128GB storage model. The handset is already available for sale in China in three color variants - White, Blue, and Black.

Honor Play 3: Specifications

The Honor Play 3 sports a 6.39-inch HD+ resolution with a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent and a punch hole atop. It is driven by a Kirin 710F chipset, which is quite disappointing since its predecessor was equipped with a more powerful Kirin 970 chipset. Paired with the chipset is up to 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, Link Turbo, and GPU Turbo 3.0. In addition, its storage can be further expanded up to 1TB using a shared SIM slot. The whole setup is fueled by a beefy 4,000 mAh battery. For software, the phone ships with Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1 on top.

In terms of camera, it features a triple camera setup that includes a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. On the front, there is an 8MP snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

Honor 20s: Specifications

The Honor 20S is packed with a smaller 6.26-inch screen, but it has FHD+ resolution instead of HD+ like that of the Honor Play 3. On top of the display, there is still a punch hole for housing a 32MP selfie snapper. Lying at its core is a Kirin 810 octa-core processor, paired with up to 8GB RAM / 256GB of storage and GPU Turbo 3.0 technology. Software-wise, it ships with Android 9 Pie with Magic UI 2.1 atop out of the box. It is powered by a 3,750 mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging solution. For security, it is equipped with a fingerprint reader at the back.

As for the cameras, the Honor 20S features the same triple rear camera setup as the Honor Play 3. The cameras are supported by AI Vision, multiple beauty modes, EIS, and more.
